Notebook and pen on a desk for planning a website

The biggest thing that slows down a new website isn’t the design. It’s waiting on content. Gather these before you start and your website will come together quickly, whether you build it yourself or work with us.

Your brand

  • Your logo (a PNG with a transparent background is best)
  • Your brand colors, if you have them
  • 2 or 3 websites you love, and what you love about them

Your photos

  • 5 to 10 good photos: you, your team, your work, your space or your products
  • Photos taken in good natural light, held horizontally when possible
  • No photos? Free stock photos work well to start, and you can swap them later.

Your words

  • A short “about” story: who you are, why you started and who you help
  • A list of your services or products, with prices if you share them
  • Your hours, service area and contact information
  • 2 or 3 customer reviews you have permission to share
  • Answers to the questions customers ask you most (these make a great FAQ page)

Your accounts and logins

  • Your domain name (or ideas for one if you don’t have it yet)
  • Access to your domain and hosting accounts
  • Links to your social media pages
  • Your booking, email newsletter or payment accounts, if you’ll use them

Don’t let perfect stop you

You don’t need everything polished to get started. A website can grow with your business. The goal is a clear, professional home base you can update anytime.
